Spiritual thought for the month: Psalm 139:14-17 -

14 I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well.
15 You saw my bones being formed as I took shape in my mother's body. When I was put together there,
16 you saw my body as it was formed. All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old.
17 God, your thoughts are precious to me. They are so many!

So how can we not give Him praise and thankfulness and honor Him?

God and your Body Part 2

Now we are going to talk about our body. We just learned that God wants us to give our bodies as SACRIFICE. Now we are going to learn, that we should see our bodies as his home, where He dwells. 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20: Paul speaks to believers, those who are followers of Christ, just as we are. Verse 19 says, "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given by God? You are not masters of yourselves."

We must see our bodies as God sees it. Not like Hollywood sees the bodies, Hollywood looks if it is blond, attractive, good body, if sexy. God does not see any of that, the only thing that God sees is a house where he lives and sees a temple. Why did the Apostle use the TEMPLE as an example, and not another example? In the old testament there was a temple (a building), and when the people of God wanted to meet God they went to the temple. If they wanted to talk to God they went to the temple, to sacrifice the animals they went to the temple, also the temple was the place of worship. Paul said this: Just as the Temple of the Old Testament was the place of worship for God, now the New Testament teaches that our body is the place of worship for God. Your body is not used by God as a house of worship only on Sundays; Your body is your temple 24 hours a day! It means that our body must be accessible to God every day, not just on Sundays. For these reasons, we must take care of our body much better. We are really extremists with our bodies, and often we ignore it. We eat what we want, we drink what we want, we smoke what we want, we do not exercise it, we ignore it completely. Not taking care of our body results in very serious health complications! If this body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, then we should treat it with more respect and not abuse it! We must keep it as healthy and as strong as possible! Not to live for many years, but for the years that we live, we will serve him with energy and in health.

We must tell the Lord, I know that this body does not belong to me, that is why I am going to be very careful how I treat it, how I exercise it, more than anything, what I put into this body. The truth is that many of us are extremists of exercises, we take vitamins in excess, we consume protein drinks in excess, we don’t forget to eat our vegetables, we no longer eat fried foods we cannot miss the aerobic classes, we make sure we don’t forget any of those! Listen, there is nothing wrong with any of them, actually they are good! The problem is that we turn our body into an idol, in such a way that we forget about the spiritual part. We do not go to church, we do not have time to read the Bible, but we cannot miss the gym!

We do not feed on the word of God, but we do not forget to eat our vegetables and protein! What I am trying to tell you is that we should not make an idol out of our body.

What I am saying is that wherever we go we take the house of worship. That's why I've been talking to you about God and Our body! That is why I am talking about the physical part of our adoration, and that it is not an event, it is a lifestyle.

Everything that we talked about is bringing us to these 5 questions:

1. Are my hands doing what pleases God?

2. Am I allowing my eyes to see what they should not?

3. What of the words are coming out of my mouth?

4. Are my feet, directing me on straight roads?

5. Do I keep my mind on things that are pure?

Until next month, my friends! God bless you all! - Anibal
