Spiritual thought for the month: Psalm 100:3 -  "Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his ; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture." It is a pretty easy verse to understand. WE are HIS and we should honor Him and give thanks, always.

God and your Body Part 1

We live in a world confused with Christian beliefs, because we do not practice the Bible as it is written and that is, because some churches do not teach the bible as it is written.

The Apostle Paul says in, 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 " 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body [a]and in your spirit, which are God’s." That is why we should honor God with our body. Also, 1 Corinthians 10:31."Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." When God looks at your body He does not see what you see, He does not see, if you are fat, skinny, handsome, beautiful, or if you have a well-formed body. Today we are going to learn that when God looks at your body, He only sees two things: He sees a sacrifice and sees a temple, keep this in mind. He also sees a place where he wants to dwell 24-7. He also See an altar where he’s worshiped.

Let's first see why our body is so important to the Lord. Keep in mind that this teaching is for those that have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. There is no doubt that our relationship with God is spiritual, but it is also physical. It is why our relationship with God should reflect physically. Let's first see why our body is so important to the Lord. I am going to talk about, SACRIFICE AND the BODY. I hope that when you finish reading this blog, you don’t see yourself the same as when you began. First, let's see SACRIFICE, The Bible tells us, that we must SACRIFICE our body for holiness. Romans 12: 1 says " Brothers and sisters, God has shown you his mercy. So I am asking you to offer up your bodies to him while you are still alive. Your bodies are a holy sacrifice that is pleasing to God. When you offer your body to God, you are worshiping him the right way." Paul says, surrender your body as a living sacrifice, he does not say offer your spirit, offer your mind, offer your heart, he says give your body! Why didn’t he say, surrender your spirit? That's because you cannot do anything without your body! You cannot communicate, you cannot move and leave your body, and wherever you go there you are! God says that our body is so important to him that one day all his followers, those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, will have a new body glorified, rebuilt, renewed and permanent. That body will not need exercises, vitamins, protein, or doctors, because it will be perfect. But! He says, while on this planet, I want your body daily, I want you to sacrifice it to me. It’s not a sacrifice where you punish yourself or kill an animal, as in the Old Testament, where you had to sacrifice an animal and that animal had to die. What God wants is that when you wake up in the morning, put your body on an imaginary altar and say, Lord, I am here. I offer you my body, do with it as you want. The apostle Paul said, your body is not yours, your body is to be placed on an imaginary altar every day and offer it to God as a living sacrifice. God wants all parts of our body to worship him. Paul says that the physical part is also the spiritual way of worshiping God.

Please come back next month as we finish up with God and Your Body Part 2. May God bless you all!
