OK, we gave you some great snacks for 200 calories. Now here are 10 great, healthy 400 calorie meal ideas to feed the hungries. Especially when you are out and about!

 

 

1. Egg sandwich on the run

- Order a Dunkin Donuts Egg & Cheese on an English Muffin, without meat - 320 calories. Wash it down with a small hot Latte Lite - 80 calories. Total calories - 400

2. Cheesy eggs on toast t the Diner

- Request an omelet with 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites. Fill with spinach, tomatoe and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. 2 slices of plain whole wheat toast. Total calories - 391

3. Bagel with cream cheese

- Order a large raisin bagel from the deli (360) and spread 2 Tbsp light cream cheese (69) and enjoy with an 8 oz cup of black coffee or tea (2) - Total calories - 431

4. Smoked Turkey and Swiss Panini

- 2 slices of multigrain bread (140), stir 1 Tbsp butter (102) and 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard (2); spread on each slice of bread. Place buttered side down on plate. Top each slice with 3/4 tsp honey mustard (5) and 1 slice of Jarlsberg lite cheese (102 per 2 slices). Add 1 slice turkey (26) and thin apple slices (18). Close the sandwich and grill in panini press or otherwise grilll on both sides unitl bread is browned and cheese is melted, about 3 minutes. Total calories - 395

5. Ham and cheese

- 2 large slices of whole wheat bread (160); 2 tsp mustard (7); 3 slices of ham - 4 inch square - (102); 1 1/2 slices of American Cheese (129); 2 lettuce leaves (8); 2 thin slices of tomato (5). Enjoy. Total calories - 411

6. Grilled Cheese

- 2 large slices of whole wheat bread (160); 2 slices American cheese (139); 1/2 Tbsn butter spread on outside of each slice (102 for 1 Tbsp) brown in pan until cheese melts and enjoy. Total calories - 401

7. Lasagna Roll-ups

- Mix 10 oz chopped spinach (45) with 1 cup part-skim ricotta (280), 2 Tbsp basil (1), and 1 egg (72). Spoon onot 8 cooked lasagna noodles (720) and roll up - Place in baking dish. Top with 3 cups of marinara sauce (240), 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella (144), and 1/4 cup grated parmesan (83). Bake 45 minutes at 375. Serves 4. Total calories per serving - 396

8. Steak Quesadilla

- Slice 1 small red onion (28) and 1/2 avocado (114). In skillet heat 1 tsp olive oil (40); cook 8 oz strip steak (352) and divide among four 100 calorie tortillas (400). Top with avocado, ionio and 1/4 cup salsa (17), black beans (50) and Monterey Jack cheese (100). Heat in skillet. Serves 4. Total calories per serving - 400

9. 2 slices pizza at pizza parlor

- 2 slices of cheese pizza from a 12" pie. Total calories - 420

10. Presto! Pasta Dinner in Minutes

- Microwave 1 Amy's Bowls Stuffed Pasta Shells (310); Rub 1 slice whole wheat toast with garlic (72), top with 1/2 Tbsp Parmesan cheese (11) and parsley (1) Broil until sheese melts. Serve with 5 steamed apragus spears topped with fresh lemon juice (16) Total calories (410)
